Contract Design Engineer

The Role

My client are a very well established, global company (£40 million turnover) with a great name in the market place for having the most talented Engineers and an order book for the next 15-20 years. They tend to keep people in the company for a really long time, too. I have placed numerous contractors with this company and have had good feedback on them as a place to work.

They have a lot of work on at the moment and are wanting to take on even more contractors to help on a huge specific project.

The Role: Contract Design Engineer

Design and detailing of heavy rotating machinery using Solid Edge.
You will be working on Solid Edge, but my client isn’t looking for a Solid Edge expert.

Any experience on 3D CAD is considered as long as you are confident you can pick new CAD packages up fairly quickly. They are more concerned about the Engineering understanding behind the rotating equipment.

Contract length: 6-12 months with an extremely likelihood to extend past this

Rate: circa £32 per hour

Skills/background needed:

-Minimum of 5 year’s + mechanical design experience
-Must be strong on 3D CAD and confident that you will pick up Solid Edge quickly if you haven’t already had experience with it.
-Must have some experience designing rotating equipment (Previous candidates have had turbines, bespoke machinery, pumps, gears, Motors, Diesel engines, turbo charger experience)
