Specialist Delivery Consultant Paul Smith recently saw the benefits of building a trusted relationship when working with a client in the Modular Building industry.
Paul also utilised technology to his advantage to be able to better serve our customer and quickly place a candidate in a desirable Design Engineer role.
The available role came about due to Paul’s thoroughness in following up a previous successful placement. When he called the client – a Drawing Office Manager – to take a reference on a candidate he was able to start building a trusting relationship which then came into fruition later down the line.
Paul then built on this initial contact by regularly sending relevant candidates to them which demonstrated that he understood the sector; this served to build further credibility with the client and paved the way for them to work together in the future.
This process worked effectively, culminating in a new call a few months later with a new assignment.
FACING NEW CHALLENGES
Securing the new assignment was not the end of the challenge for Paul as other agencies were also looking at the role. Leaning on his relationship with the client, working at speed and using every tool at his disposal were crucial.
Technology within the talent acquisition sector has blossomed in recent years, with many new online platforms having emerged. We see it as our responsibility to keep up to date with all the latest job boards and resources to ensure that we have access to the highest quality candidates that we can subsequently place in both appealing and appropriate job roles.
One of the technology platforms we have at White Label send alerts about candidates that have just come onto the market. By using this effectively, Paul was able to send a perfect candidate instantly to the client, with no time delay at all.
He then worked hard to fit the new candidate into the already busy process by arranging out-of-hours interviews at very short notice; ensuring the client was able see this candidate was crucial as we knew how perfect they were for the role.
Paul’s effective time management and his strategic use of technology resulted in a very happy Design Engineer and a very happy client.
This has subsequently led to another role to fulfil in Quality, and White Label will also be added to the client’s preferred supplier list in the future. We would call that a win-win-win all round!
