Mitutoyo CMM Programmer – £17.00 p/hour – Rochdale- Fantastic Permanent Opportunity

Due to business expansion and growth a brand-new opening has arisen for a CMM Programmer to join a high-quality precision engineering business based in the Rochdale area.

This is a fantastic career opportunity for a CMM Programmer who has worked in a highly regulated industry i.e. Aerospace, Medical Devise, Nuclear to join a high turnover, extremely profitable business.

THE ROLE

The main purpose of the role is writing CMM programs & maintaining and controlling all established CMM programs using Cosmos software on Mitutoyo machines.

  • Conducting physical and visual checks on medical components, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials/parts
  • Creating programs from electronic models
  • 3d electronic model creation
  • Working towards client-specific and high-quality production
  • Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to
  • Provide technical support and training to staff

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing/engineering role
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings & machining strategies
  • At least 2 years CMM Programming experience preferably on Mitutoyo machines
  • CNC machining experience would be an advantage
  • Computer literate

SALARY/RATE + BENEFITS

  • Hourly rate of pay:  £16-17.00 per hour (negotiable for the right candidate)
  • Hours of Work:  39 hours per week
    Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 5.00pm with 2 x 15 minutes breaks & ½ hour for lunch.
    Friday, 8.00am to 1.00pm with 1 x 15-minute break
  • A contributory pension scheme is available upon successful completion of a 12 week probationary period (Employee pays 5%, Company pay 4% (before 45) and 7% (after 45))
  • Annual Holiday Entitlement – 24 days in addition to 8 statutory public holidays (holiday year Jan – Dec)
  • 1 additional service day for each 5 years completed capped at 25 years
  • Non-contractual bonus scheme if targets hit
  • Sick Pay – 5 days full pay per annum, the SSP (applicable after 1 years’ service)
  • Sick Bonus – If no paid sick days are taken in the year (15th December to 14th December) a 10 day sick pay bonus will be paid (at the employee’s rate of pay at the time the bonus is paid) with the final week’s pay prior to Christmas after 1st year

Quality Technician/Inspector – Manchester – £25K – Great Business!

Due to business growth and expansion a fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Quality Control Technician/Inspector to support a busy quality department within a manufacturing environment based in Manchester.

THE BUSINESS

This is a reputable worldwide manufacturing business who have supplied engineered products for over 70 years working across various manufacturing processes including CNC, Fabrication, Heat Treatment.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager the main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Quality system is maintained and meets both internal and external requirements along with the following remit;

  • Provide day to day technical support where necessary
  • Act as a point of contact for quality issues
  • Verify and file all completed QA/Factory documentation and report on non-conformances
  • Archive all paperwork relating to product quality and maintain a legible, easily accessible filing system
  • Implement internal audits
  • Implementation of data input for all material certificates and non-conformities
  • Review and organise calibration of equipment
  • Summarise database and graphs where necessary
  • Implement document amendments update registers and ensure integrity of document control procedure when required
  • Support QA Manager in preparation for external audits

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience supporting a quality department within an engineering environment. Familiar with similar manufacturing processes including CNC, welding, fabrication, heat treatment etc. Candidates with experience working within the glass or plastics industry would also be considered.
  • QA Documentation experience.
  • Manual Inspection experience.
  • Excellent computer skills in Word and Excel.

WORKING HOURS

8.30am – 5pm Monday – Thursday
8.30am – 1pm Friday

THE ROLE

Due to high demand for their products, there is now an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the Head Office in the Cheshire area, reporting directly to the Managing Director and Board of Directors.

You will be the Representative for the maintenance of the Quality Management System, and you will be responsible for the quality of products and components being received, processed and dispatched.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring the company’s compliance to ISO 9001.
  • Management of writing and controlling all works procedures, specifications, forms and controlled documents.
  • Internal auditing of the Quality Management System.
  • Resolving supplier quality problems with the Quality Assurance and Control teams.
  • Process improvement projects.
  • Training of employees on Quality Control or Assurance related matters.
  • Health & safety risk assessments with the HSE Manager.
  • Supporting and Assessing Material defect problems with suppliers and customers.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

You will need to be an excellent communicator at all levels and be confident in taking full responsibility for the Quality Performance areas under your influence.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, in an engineering environment.
  • Be ideally, degree qualified, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have sufficient experience within Quality, HSE Management.
  • Be able to organise yourself and others to meet deadlines.
  • Have an understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Have a proven record of improvement in company quality performance.

Quality Systems Engineer – Manchester – £35-40K

THE BUSINESS

The company design and manufacture material handling machinery and are looking for a Quality Systems Engineer who comes from a fast pace manufacturing environment.

JOB PURPOSE

Support the Quality Manager in maintaining and developing the QMS, ISO Accreditations and Regulatory requirements ensuring our Quality Processes continue to support the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company, including any business accreditations
  • Maintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for the business
  • Host external Quality System audits
  • Analyse current and future procedural needs of the business
  • Organise and manage the plant Internal Audit system and the corrective action reporting system
  • Conduct Quality Systems audits and assist in training/guidance to other auditors
  • Provide training on Quality issues and business processes to all areas of the business
  • Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with plant continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure MDG Compliance on UL, ATEX/Ex, IECEx and 1935/2004/FDA Food Contact Incoming Materials
  • Promote and support “Continuous Improvement” throughout the organisation
  • Support the QM in achieving and maintaining necessary system and product approvals
  • Initiate and support corrective and preventive action activity in response to internal and external deficiencies, non-conformities and reported performance degradation
  • Support the team re: SAP/Q Pulse alignment, ensuring key QA support functions remain in place
  • SAP QN System Analysis, Monitoring & Reporting

Secondary:

  •  Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
  • Collate quality data for monitoring targets
  • Collate and submit WEEE Data in accordance with standard and timescales
  • Support and lead process improvement activities
  • Introduce and promote the use of Quality Sterndrive tools and methodologies
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
  • Plan projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented
  • Support MT Corporate Quality Initiatives & SAP testing
  • Participate in Supplier Quality approval, development and improvement activities
  • Participate in related Customer complaints investigations
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by the QM

EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Qualification; ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor
  • SAP
  • ISO 14001:2015, UL, ATEX/Ex, IECEx  Knowledge
  • Quality Management Systems experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

Desirable:

  • Appropriate technical qualification – e.g. HNC Mech or Electrical Engineering; Business-related Qualification
